Who can benefit from professional portrait photography?
Professional headshots are traditionally used to put faces to the names of big business leaders, realtors, models, and actors. With the rise of social media, however, almost everyone expects to be able to see who they are doing business with. A professional headshot builds trust and show your audience that you are serious about your personal brand. Whether you are fundraising or simply looking for a new job, having a high-quality headshot is essential for capitalizing on the single second which your image has to make a fantastic first impression.
What if I’m not as photogenic as I need to be?
You might not think it, but you are photogenic. Being photogenic isn’t about being the epitome of body beautiful. Being photogenic is about projecting confidence and a strong personal demeanor. There are techniques to appear more confident and approachable in photos and you will learn them at the session. With the right lighting, we can then create professional portrait photography which you won’t fail to feel proud to see yourself at the center of.
Do you retouch your portrait photography?
A professional headshot should not be a heavily retouched image which people will subconsciously suspect doesn’t represent the real you. This is why we try to keep our headshots as natural as possible. We will clean up imperfections and blemishes. If you have any specific requests, let us know. We will provide one retouched image with every professional headshot session. Additional retouched images can be added to all packages.
What backgrounds do you shoot headshots against?
A professional headshot needs to focus on you more than anything else. This is why we shoot headshots against a clean, simple, non-intrusive backgrounds. Bolder colored backgrounds can be arranged on request. It should be noted, however, that white and gray headshot backgrounds are the industry standard, they are timeless and usually work well with existing branding.
Can you shoot on-location?
Your time is a commodity. What is more, experience shows us that people feel more at ease when in their own work or home environments. This is why we specialize in on-site headshot and portrait photography which will provide you with exactly the same level of professional service as you would expect to benefit from in the studio.
Do you offer group rates?
At Seattle Headshot Pro, we are always happy to provide a custom quote for group headshot photography sessions. All you need to do is call or contact us in advance for a free quote.
How often should I update my headshot?
A headshot is a remarkable personal branding tool. For your headshot to stay relevant, however, you should ideally think about updating it at least every 1 -2 years. This way, your clients and peers will always be provided with the most accurate and true to life depiction of who you really are. For actors and other performers, it is recommended to update your headshots when your look changes.
Do you offer makeup artist services?
At Seattle Headshot Pro, we don’t offer in-house makeup artist services. What we can do, however, is arrange for a makeup artist to attend sessions. The fee is paid to them directly in return for their services.
How long will it take for you to create my headshot?
Individual sessions usually take about 45 minutes to one hour. Some packages with more outfit changes can take longer than that. We will shoot different looks, review the images and shoot some more. Don't think of it as a quick school photo. Sometimes it takes a little bit of time to get comfortable in front of the camera. For on-location group shoots, depending on group sizes, headshot session lengths can vary. In every case, however, you can expect to receive your professional headshot images in 5 -10 business days.
How do you deliver headshot session photos?
All our headshot images are delivered via a high-resolution digital download. We do not offer professional printing of images but on request, we will be more than happy to connect you with a recommended professional printing company.
